  • Angela Welch

    Angela is a retired New Hampshire Educator of 44 years. She received her BS in Elementary and Special Education at Keene State College, Keene NH and her M.Ed as a Reading and Writing Specialist at Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH. When not writing, she enjoys reading, hunting for Depression glass and traveling, especially to historic sites. Angela is married, has three grown children and four grandchildren. She currently resides in the Merrimack Valley in northeastern Massachusetts.

  • Sarah Boudreau

    Sarah studied at Plymouth State University, Plymouth, NH to be an Art Educator. She obtained her M.ED in Curriculum and Instruction at Lesley University Cambridge, MA. She is currently teaching art at a local elementary school in Epping, NH. When not teaching or creating art, Sarah can be found at the beach or hiking where nature truly inspires her creativity. She and her husband live in New Hampshire. She has two children, Emerson and Florence. as well as two rescue dogs.

Here is the story of Angela and Sarah. They worked together at a New Hampshire elementary school. Angela worked for 44 years as an educator before retiring in 2020. Sarah is currently going into her 14th year of teaching art at this elementary school. Amidst the pandemic Angela revisited stories she had written years before and began to fine tune them. Angela was working with Amity Publications to get her first book ready to be illustrated. Once she was ready for an illustrator she reached out to Sarah. First of all Sarah was flattered that Angela would reach out to her, then she accepted the task of illustrating Angela’s first book. Sarah had never before illustrated a book but ALWAYS thought it would be fun. So as Sarah navigated teaching art during 2020 and was also given the excuse to be creative and started creating the images for the book. Their first book Blame it on Revere! The Portsmouth Alarm. was released in April 2021. This book began their partnership. They are currently dreaming up more books and illustrations to showcase things they love about New Hampshire. Angela and Sarah’s second book The Colors of New Hampshire quickly followed being released the end of July 2021. Also in July of 2021 Blame it on Revere! The Portsmouth Alarm received the Purple Dragonfly book award honorable mentions for Picture Books ages 6 & Older and the Purple Dragonfly book award honorable mention for New Author Fiction.
